Hi Guys and Gals

We all know games are awesome, lets show their true power by boshing out some environmentally themed little demons, get the girl, and save the planet! - and then we can go to the pub.

The basic premise for the weekend is.... To try and Jam out some games that have an environmental/and or carbon cutting theme. Themes can be anything from energy usage through to carbon footprints, peak oil, ocean acidification, to deforestation and anything else you can think of, so massive scope for ideas. Its for a charity called 10:10 who are launching a pretty cool facebook integrated carbon calculating tool called my1010 my.1010uk.org/ , you don’t have to, but if you are happy with your game they will stick it on the site and your games will reach a new and pretty big audience. They are a lovely bunch and have given us use of their office in Camden all weekend for the Jam.

Plan is to turn up any time from around 10am on Saturday. We’ll have a look at the beta version of the site on the day (if you don’t all rush off to sign up as beta testers for them before then my.1010uk.org/ !) and I’ll hand out a load of artwork, character library, assets etc. for anyone to use if they fancy it. Most importantly feel free to take the 10:10 vibe or artwork and run with it in what ever direction you like. Lets just get creative and make some cool green themed games...

Hopefully there will be a prize for the indies who make the folks from my1010 smile the most. I’m gonna try and get some friends who teach the electronics behind peddle power, to come along and show us how you can power a laptop with a bike, so that should be a laugh too. I also know a couple of musicians who may come down to do music and sound for peoples games if you fancy having someone create the sound for you.

Same as the last Jam - and as George put it so eloquently - If you need accommodation in London, please get in touch - there will be people willing to put you up. Or, at the very least, you can stay in a hostel with other like minded Indies. If your interested, please come down and get involved!

About the 10:10 office
Its a nice big space with a little kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. plenty of nice places to eat close by plus an M&S and of course all the wonderful drinking and music venues Camden has to offer! - which hopefully we’ll all be up for making use of!...
